dallas... so far

although we have lived in this city for 6 months, i believe that we've only taken about 5 pictures. andrea - remember when you and pj were getting married and in order to have a wedding video longer than 2 minutes, you spent a day changing outfits and posing in different locations to make up for all the times you didn't take pictures (why do i remember this day like the back of my hand. oh the obsessions you have with your sisters' boyfriends/husbands when you're little)? yeah, at this point i feel we should do the same. luckily/unluckily i'm afraid we're here for a while. i'll have to be more picturesque on all of the round twos. here is what we have captured in chronological order:

painting the apartment.

matt's first trip to sprinkles. we have since been there probably 25 times. i've raised a monster.

meeting the sartorialist, perhaps the most famous fashion blogger in the world. i waited in line for several hours with hundreds of people dressed exactly like everyone on his blog, all of which were praying that he would ask to take their picture. too bad i got home and noticed that i didn't zip up my dress. whaaat? so so embarrassing. i obviously wasn't asked to make my debut on his blog.

meeting my lauren like an angel sent from heaven at the sartorialist book signing. definitely one of the better days in this city (even with the unzipped dress).

at a concert with andy and beka. we also had fun exploring downtown dallas that night and even got a tour from a homeless man at jfk's assassination site. very fun.

halloween:
mike and brooke's cute fam.

our cheap cop out halloween costumes.

check out those lashes. matt even made a solo trip to the grocery store dressed in this garb. he was in a serious bad mood after - crossdressing is not his cup of tea.

the famous babe's.

yes that is a huge pile of fried chicken and the "salad" that was literally lettuce only. the first time that zagat truly failed us but i think we are the only texans that feel that way.

we have however captured some of our trips to our favorite dallas restaurants. why is that the only time i pull out my camera? shows my priorities.

suze - trip one.

suze - trip two (sorry matt - he turned into the photographer both times).

the porch.

central 214.

abacus (no my family doesn't live here, but it happens to be the only time we make it to the fancy places).

hatties.

other things i wish i would have documented:

-our whole move out here... yep, didn't take one picture.
-matt's first day as a working professional.
-picking up our craigslist washer and dryer in the scariest dallas neighborhood i've ever seen. nice people but we definitely should have had a gun.
-all the fun times spent with mike and brooke... specifically when matt and i babysat and eden fell in the duck pond (i know, we are the worst), sammoon/lunching/pet store, their cute house, and all the delicious sunday dinners. is it obvious that we miss them like crazy?
-the so you think you can dance concert.
-dave crane's visits. short and sweet.
-buying our couch. i realize no one else would care about this but it was a big moment as it finally ended my 3 year search.
-regina spektor concert. i get goosebumps thinking about it.
-stephen and mckenna dutcher. we hang out with them every weekend yet i do not have one picture of them. get ready guys.
-highland park! once i get a better lay of the land and narrow down the neatest streets i'll post pics of all my favorite houses - you know what i'm talking about chels.
-our first trip to the dallas temple.

here's to taking more pictures! i wouldn't hold your breath...

I LOVE the fact that you 2 dressed like each other! and I went to the Porch when I was in Dallas last September! It was awesome! Um, you know steve dutcher??? We were friends freshman year! You should ask him about his days as an aerobics instructor :)

Looks like you're having fun!! come visit me in AZ!! and I think I just might need to round LX 12 and plan a trip to come visit you in Dallas!!

Hahahaha..I love the pictures that you do have. That restaurant with the fried chicken looks like my worst nightmare (no offense Texas). I love our Dallas trips. Do you feel that we basically live there with you? Favorite Dallas moments:

1) The lamps. Come on, the best 4 hours.
2) Getting off the wrong exit and that car that literally danced. The doors moving every which way and the whole car moving up and down.

It's an awesome place!

honestly laughed out loud when i read that your dress was unzipped when you met the sartorialist. i can imagine how traumatizing that must have been! but freak, you've already done some amazingly fun things in dallas. these will be years you look back on fondly. but we're all really ready for you guys to move back home! can't wait for more pictures. hope to make it out to dallas again soon and i'll happily pose for you anytime. we get to see you soon right? so happy about that!! love you.

I like how you have made the pics look rounded on the edges. You'll have to teach me some of these skills. :)We do need to hang out for sure... this weekend. Glad you started this blog. I love it.

It is good to see that Matt has retained some of his mad painting skills from his days when he worked at brundage enterprises.

Whoa whoa whoa wait a second, you failed to mention that I made it to your blog!!! Quite an honor I might add. That night is definitely (and might I add will remain) my favorite memory of Dallas, ever. So glad I had no shame.
