this place is scandalous. seriously. but we didn't let that take away from a lovely family vacay. it was four short days of doing nothing; going to the pool (+ beach for matt), sitting at restaurants chatting for hours and planning where the next meal would be eaten, and a bit of shopping. like i said, just like the kardashians without all the gross stuff.
night one in the lobby of the fountaine bleu, which was basically just one large bar area - the check-in desk, concierge, etc. were definite afterthoughts. unfortunately we did not see any celebs. side note: never go to the fountaine bleu on a friday night dressed as "school teachers" as eve said. this spencer prattish man looked at me as if i was homeless, and then joined the rest of his lingerie people. we laughed and left quickly before we were kicked out.
looking beef at the beach. matt got fried the first day so coated himself in sunscreen the rest of the time, which wound up turning him a nice shade of lavender. he's a funny guy.
so excited to get in the water but it was too cold.as for the highlight of the trip...
khloe and kourtney must have had the day off.
the boys entertained themselves by watching all the crazies.
rolfe and pat in front of quite possibly the most charming building in the city (this is not a hard feat). 
the neatest store. even rolfe was mesmerized and ended up buying a wallet.
it had a floor to ceiling wall of antique sewing machines. freakin cool.so sad i'm not still there...
the view from the balcony of our room (a room that six adults squeezed into i might add - we are frugalistas). thanks again for the fancy view upgrade, rolfe. so worth it. oh and thanks also for letting us tag along to your dermatology meetings every year. already excited for new orleans 2011! equally scandalous but with better food.

That looks pretty fun... for miami?! That store... you must share the name! So... if you had the choice to live in michigan for 3 months or miami, which would you choose? those are our two options when we're done here?
HAHA...Dad and I truly look like the perfect "prep" couple in the first picture. This was an interesting vaca. I wish I would have done some research before going so I could have taken appropriate clothing. Some classic moments though..especially when Pat thought she was going to walk to church.
HOw FUN! I'm jealous!! Thats so fun you all got to go. I love Pat and Rolfe. I miss you guys btw!! When is your next trip to UT?? Let's plan it together :)
you are all far too fashionable for that city! sick. it just sounds kind of gross. but i'm still super bummed i missed out. matt's lavender face is priceless. looks like that one charming store redeemed the entire city! hope to make it next time!
Look at all those pictures of the people that are way too overdressed for Miami. Really- next time you just need to take a small purse...enough to hold your thong and pasties.

Maddie I love your blog! I hope you don't mind me looking at it. I love that you went to Dash and looked for Khloe and Kourtney. That would have been the best to see them. And you guys do NOT look like school teachers. haha! Eve is so funny. You probably just looked the best dressed there and people have no style down there. Fun trip!
