matt visits the er

*another one for documentation purposes. i apologize for all these personal posts lately. one of these days i'll just post photos again.

tuesday/wednesday were nightmare days that you wished never really happened. on tuesday night we thought matt had a stroke. the right side of his body went numb, he lost some coordination (mostly just his hands and was running into things) and could not talk. he could think clearly most of the time, but could not find the words. it was exactly like the newscaster after the grammys - did you see that? luckily we made it to the er very quickly, within about 30 minutes from the time the numbness began, so i wasn't trying to take care of him during the worst of it. after being admitted to the hospital and undergoing many tests - a ct scan, mri, echocardiagram, etc. the doctors concluded that it was just a bad migraine. we were extremely relieved but are just sick that these might happen more and more. it was the worst night! there is nothing quite like seeing your husband with slurred speech and no coordination. anyway, he is feeling much better now... he had a headache and nausea for a few days after but finally today said he feels back to his normal self. of course he had his charming sense of humor through the whole process. such a sweetheart.

being extra dramatic for the camera. i think as i was taking this photo he was moaning "i'm dying".

he was put on a clear liquid diet which he did not like.

still the most darling dad even when he's sick.

wells wins the award for the most calm in the crane household during this whole ordeal. special thanks to lindsey and brock who watched him on wednesday night so that we could sleep. most babies are just going out for the first time at 4 weeks - wells is already having sleep overs. sorry bud. brock gave matt the sweetest blessing and even used his oil consecrated by president monson. what would we do without them?

oh matt i love you so. please be healthy.

What would we do without Matt around? I think everyone in the Horsley family would be extremely bored/depressed. I'm so glad everything is okay!! That was a horrible couple days. We love you, Matt! Stop getting those stupid headaches.

P.S. I feel really good about that blessing and the oil. We should pass that stuff around. And I'm still obsessed with Wells.

honestly, scariest thing ever. pat and i were talking about it last night and we're all so relieved it turned out the way it did. matt, thanks for pulling through. we'd be heartbroken if anything really seriously happened to you! that last picture is the best! oh and the "i'm dying" picture. what a hoot, even in the scariest moment. LOVE that you have brock and lindsey there. thank goodness for them!

Oh my goodness!! That is seriously scary. I cannot even imagine what was going through your head. I am so glad he is okay. Please call us if you ever need anything, even if it is to come get 'Baby Welly' in the middle of the night so you can rush to the ER. That has got to be the worst feeling ever to worry about your husband right after having a baby and not knowing what is going on. So so glad you guys are okay!!

That is so scary! I'm glad he's doing better. Who knew a migraine could do that? No fun. Oh, and I think Kate is obsessed with your baby. She talks about baby Wellsley all the time and we were listening to a duet in the car where they said the word "baby" at one point and she said, "Maddie had a baby". Then a few moments later she said "Mom, this is Maddie and Matt singing this song." Let's get together again soon!

PS. Don't apologize for the personal stories - they're great. Well, this one wasn't great...it was heartbreaking. I told Matt and he was super concerned. Let's do dinner again soon. =)

PPS. Is that your sister that is married to Matt Lloyd? Small world. He probably doesn't know who I am but we went to the same high school. I think he's a year or two older than me and I think he was in my ex's ward. Okay- I'll leave your blog alone.

That's nuts! Hope he's ok! Cute Wells! And Thank goodness for Brock and Linds. That actually happened to my sister Ellen once when she was in high school. Not the numbness, but the slurred words and not being able to find the words. So scary! Hers was just a migrane too. Do you have good pillows? That seriously helped her A LOT. Contour foam ones.

xoxo!

So glad Matt is alive and well and was able to eat burgers with us the next day! Still can't believe that happened! I feel like it was a story from a movie. Too crazy! Just glad he's back to normal.

What a scary episode! I would have been dying!! I can only imagine what that felt like to think your husband had something seriously wrong with him as you held your newborn baby. (So scary!!) I'm so glad that everything turned out okay. Is he still having headaches?

And as a side note- I love how Matt keeps making the goofiest faces in pictures even though he's got to know that they will wind up on your blog. He's so funny! And really- he's quite handsome when he just looks normal. Those pictures are just harder to come by. :)
